Our Story began when Colonel H.M Cook, a Civil War veteran, opened a general mercantile store in Leon County Texas. One hundred and forty-one years later, and seven generations the exact same institution remains intact. Coincidence? I think not. It takes a strong foundation to crusade through: a Civil War, the Spanish American War, Two World Wars, and The Great Depression.
